The beauty salon of your dreams, just picture it in your mind. High-end styling chairs, luxury shampoo units and maybe even a well-designed interior are all perfectly displayed in your mind. When you see things realistically, you notice that your budget may not allow for all of these wishes to come true. Yet finding fashionable equipment and furniture doesn’t have to be expensive, you can bargain shop and find most of the equipment at a decent price. If you want to spice up the look of your new shop, or just looking to remodel your old shop, you may want to look into some of these pointers.

Color Scheme

Color schemes have psychological effects on a client’s emotions, invoking a feeling of ease, comfort or even worse nausea. Bright reds, yellows and oranges tend to make a client feel welcomed, and coupled with wood accents can make the environment feel calm and relaxing. A salon welcomes men and women to relax and enjoy your services; you don’t want customers feeling depressed or hurried with dark color hues. Use bright purples, oranges, whites and bright blues to produce a positive, energetic feeling for your business.

Equipment and Furniture

You want salon equipment that has style and reliability. You don’t want to buy a plain leather chair; you want to buy a bright, white color styling chair that has a multi-purpose functionality for cutting hair and performing pedicures. The salon chairs you purchase should also coordinate with the color of the floor and color scheme of the walls. You don’t want matching chairs, floors and walls. Add variety and select color schemes and patterns that will invoke that positive, welcoming vibe you want for your business.

When customers walk into your business, the first few things they’ll notice are the furniture, color scheme of the place and how well-maintained the furniture is. You don’t have to spend a fortune on furniture to make the salon look nice, but you do have to know how to decorate with the items you do have. Convex mirrors, wood accents, coffee tables, and even lamps can work together to create depth and style to the room. For instance, you can use a mirror to enlarge the visual perception of an area and to create a brighter room, while the wood accents can surround a centerpiece or large mirror.

Budget

If you’re just opening up a new place, your budget determines what you can and cannot buy or redecorate. If you’ve been in the business for a while, you can redecorate one aspect of your salon at a time, such as the floor and paint scheme. What’s important to note is how to cut out expensive items and shop around for decent painters, equipment and materials. You’ll start to notice that the largest budget expense you have may be buying the barber chairs or styling chairs for your salon, but play with the number and notice what costs you can reduce or avoid altogether.

Lips can be very sensitive to cold weather, air conditioning and harsh wind and can cause cracking and bleeding. Dry and cracked lips not only look bad on a person but can be very painful too. Follow these tips and you can have beautiful soft lips.

Protect them from the sun

Too much exposure to the sun will make the lips dry and rough. Use a lip balm with a minimum sun protection factor of 15 before going out in the sun.

Drink plenty of water

Hydration is the key to maintaining soft and healthy skin and it applies to the lips as well. Make sure to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day.

Avoid using long lasting lipsticks

These dry out the lips as the lipstick absorbs the moisture in the lips so that it can adhere to the lips to ensure that it stays on for longer

Use a moisturizer

Do not peel off dead skin on the lips; it will only cause more damage. Use a moisturizer such as Vaseline, olive oil or coconut oil and massage the lips and let the skin fall off on its own.

Avoid too much salt

This will dehydrate your skin.

Are you into art deco rings?  Are you the kind of person who can instantly justify the purchase of antique rings without as much as a second thought?  Are you also the kind of person who is carrying some extreme amount of credit card debit that you are currently pretending doesn’t exist? If this describes you, put the estate jewellery down and back away slowly; you need some basic lessons in credit card debt repayment, and you need them fast!  You may thing that you are beyond help, but it is that attitude that will cause you to end up declaring bankruptcy and going downhill from there – yes, there is a downhill from bankruptcy, and no, you don’t want to know what it is.  So it’s time to get your eye off the money, and start paying attention to the things that matter, the bills, the payments, the things you actually need to spend money on – your necessities.

Your necessities don’t include a new bracelet or new shoes every month, rather, your necessities are things that you cannot survive without, such as rent, utilities, internet, transportation costs, food, etc.  If you have any animals or children, then your necessities must also include their expenses as well – this does not include your dog’s new sweater, or sadly, a new game system for your son, daughter, and/or significant other.  Once you have identified the necessities, all of the money you make that doesn’t go to them, should be put toward making yourself debt free.

I know that you are interested in getting the best possible products for your money, and so I would caution you that while online department store may seem like the best bet, they may not be as tempting as you thought that they were.  It is true that you could get anything from tike tech strollers to sharp microwaves without leaving the comfort of your home, much less your chair.  And while this can be an extremely time saving technique, I would caution you that the sales online might not be anywhere near the sales that you would find in actual stores.  Also, the cost of shipping is another additional feature that must be taken into consideration when buying anything from dog food bowls to peg perego strollers, because there will be additional charges for freight items.  While it may physically be easier for you to order things from the comfort of your chair, you credit card would prefer that you actual visit the stores you intent to purchase merchandise from and physically view items in real life before purchasing them.

Another problem with purchasing items online is the fact that the items may not be exactly what you wanted, either size or actual item-wise, and it is twice as hard to return items from online department stores than it is to return items from physical stores in your general location.
