Old hair styles with a new twist

Today, hair styles come and go more often than in the past. But few styles still stays more popular with some form of a new twist. You can watch many new styles at designer hairstylists.

No matter what, the soft and bouncy waves are still one of the favorite hair styles. This style is created by using curl-enhancing cream or gel and blow drying the hair with a barrel curling iron. Some designers are introducing a twist to the age old wavy hair. The elegant dress maker J. Mendel is using relaxed and unfussy waves instead of barrel curls. It gives flat and natural looking waves. Hair is still parted in the middle and over the ears but uses a flat iron instead of the barrel iron to create natural looking waves.

Who couldn’t remember the braids? Instead of tightly combed and braided, many are using new twist trying to give a more natural look. At Balmain, they make the braids somewhat messy to give it a “lived in” look. Braided hair is secured with thicker black elastic at the top and bottom of the braid, and randomly pulled some hair around the ears. Hair is not polished yet gives a sporty new braid look.
